This winter has been unseasonably warm for Michigan {I can't even begin to tell you how happy this makes us, by the way}. But once reality sets in that it's still only February, our stomachs start to hurt. Because we will -guarantee you- have a blizzard in March. Maybe even April. Depressing, right?

As gross as the thought of a late snowfall is, it's not going to stop us from pulling out our lovely bright colors to jump-start the spring! Rich orange compliments pretty plum and bold fuchsia in an incredibly cheery way. Who knows, maybe it will carry us through until May...

Our last 'Color Me Monday' post was filled with warm tones. Heart-warming, beautiful colors. This week is a nod to the cool colors {and how beautiful are these blues together?} You could mix these colors together with silver, white and ivory for a winter wonderland event. But you could easily use them in a summer to accent a seaside affair.

 A versatile, gorgeous color scheme makes me happy. And this one could really be done any time of the year. Rich purple, earthy green, and bold saffron. You could truly do this in the spring, summer, winter or fall. Not only that, but this could fit into a vintage-inspired event as easily as it could fit into a modern event.

But what is my favorite way to style a combination this beautiful, you ask? With an organic, fresh outdoor celebration. And some heavy, rich traditional elements. What is not to love about that?

As we inch into fall, we can count on the fact that the dreaded 'typical' fall colors will start being blasted all over the place. Don't get me wrong, I do love the various shades of red and all those warm color tones. But I hate the 'expected'. Particularly when you can predict the color scheme of a wedding before you even walk into it, just because of what time of year it is. 

Well, here is a solution for the upcoming, cooler season. A rich blend of teal, deep purple and decadent raspberry fuchsia. Using jewel tones like these will make your event feel playful, without giving off a summery feel.

Well, there is no fighting it. Autumn is definitely creeping up on us now. Hope you all had a rockin' weekend. Friday was beautiful here in Michigan. But Saturday? Not so much. It stormed here in Grand Rapids like there was no tomorrow. Fortunately, it finally cleared up in the evening for all those poor brides wondering if the rain was ever going to chill out for their big day.

Speaking of rain... did you realize how much a bright color can energize an event, regardless if there is gloomy weather outside or not? That is one sure-fire way to beat the one thing you truly cannot control. Rain on your wedding day. Here is a organic yet bold color scheme. A bright pear green with a dusty purple and chocolate is a delicious mix.

You could do something with clean lines {like the very sweet and very structural tulip}, for some modern simplicity. Or you can add some wildflowers in the mix to kick up the 'nature' element. Or throw in bunches of fresh lavender. Your guests will love it.
