Need? Need is strong. Save-the-Dates have gained popularity in the last five or so years. In fact, they have become more common practice than their original intended use for destination weddings or weddings that fall on-or-around holiday weekends.
If you would like to send a Save-the-Date, they usually go out four to six months prior to your wedding date if your wedding is local. And six to eight months if your wedding is at a destination location where your guests will need to make travel arrangements.
